About IceRocket Design.
WIceRocket Design is a small web design studio near Stroud, run by me, Steve Hutton. I design and build every website myself, so you deal with the same person from the first chat to launch day and beyond.
Websites built by someone who has run a business
I started my first business in Stroud in 1990. Over 23 years, The Communications Centre grew to 15 shops, a business sales division and a team of 60. I handled the marketing myself, from branding and leaflets to promotions, shop signage and display stands. I sold the business in 2013.
In 2014 I launched BritBag, a storage bag for Lego. I took it from a first sketch to a manufactured product, built the online shop, and sold it through my own website, Amazon, Etsy and eBay. The business was bought in 2017.
I set up IceRocket Design in 2015. After more than 30 years on the business owner’s side of the table, I build websites the way an owner wants them: clear, practical, and judged by the enquiries and sales they bring in.
How I work
- Get to know your business. What you sell, who buys it, and what the website needs to do for you.
- Agree the plan. We agree the sitemap and design together before anything is built, so there are no surprises.
- Build it properly. Fast, secure WordPress sites set up for search, with bespoke plugins or integrations such as HubSpot when a project needs them.
- Stay around afterwards. Training so you can update the site yourself, plus hosting, updates and support once you’re live.
One point of contact, with specialists when you need them
You’ll always deal directly with me, with no account managers or hand-offs. When a project calls for specialist skills, such as particular design work or in-depth SEO, I bring in trusted people from my network and manage that for you.
Long-term relationships
Many of my clients stay for years. I built FleetCheck’s first website in 2015 and looked after it for the next eleven years, and I’ve designed Fit Solar’s logo and website and developed it with them since they launched in 2022. See more of my work.

Based near Stroud
IceRocket is based at the Old Mill in Oakridge Lynch, just outside Stroud. I work with businesses across Stroud, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, and further afield too: AES Fleet, for example, are in Bedfordshire.
